Basil (Ocimum basilicum) is listed as non-toxic to cats by the ASPCA. It's a common culinary herb and is generally well tolerated in small amounts. Some cats show mild interest in chewing basil leaves; large amounts of any unfamiliar plant material can occasionally cause mild stomach upset simply from the fiber, not from any toxin.
