Verdict
Grapefruit contains psoralens and essential oils limonene and linalool that are toxic to cats, concentrated primarily in the peel, seeds, and white pith. Cats' limited liver glucuronidation makes them especially vulnerable to these compounds. GI upset, CNS depression, and photosensitivity can result.
