Verdict
Raisins are dried grapes and contain the same unknown toxin in a much more concentrated form. For cats — who are smaller and already more vulnerable — even a few raisins can trigger acute kidney failure. Raisins are often hidden in cereals, trail mix, cookies, and baked goods. Currants carry the same risk.
